Almost one year ago, 28-year-old Laura Harrier had her big blockbuster breakout moment in Spider-Man: Homecoming, playing Liz, Peter Parker’s (Tom Holland) crush. Two months before the film, Harrier was photographed at Louis Vuitton’s resort show in Japan, and since she’s become a major Louis Vuitton It girl. She attended her first Met Gala with creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere this May; she just went to the brand’s cruise collection show in Saint-Paul de Vence, France. That trip became a full-fledge southern France vacation with fellow brand ambassadors Emma Stone and Justin Theroux.

It also sparked tabloid speculation, when Harrier and Theroux were photographed together on a yacht that something more could be going on. Daily Mail called it a “flirty frolic by the sea.” Harrier dismissed that as nonsense, describing her, Stone, and Theroux as friends through work to ELLE.com at the Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic in New York City on Saturday.

“For me, my career is about my work, and people can say what they want,” she said when asked about the gossip. “I can’t control that, but I just hope that my body of work kind of speaks for itself.”

Here, Harrier talks about her Southern France trip for Louis Vuitton, her role in BlacKkKlansman, and how she keeps her 28-year-old skin looking young enough to pass for 17.

You were just at the Louis Vuitton cruise show. What was that experience like?

Laura Harrier: I mean, I’m always at the Vuitton show. It was incredible. Honestly, Nicolas killed it. It might have been my favorite show that I’ve been to yet. But the foundation we were at [Fondation Maeght] had just the most incredible art. The show is in the Miró maze. There was these crazy sculptures. And just the clothes themselves were so beautiful. I’m so excited to wear everything.

I saw you guys went on a little vacation with Emma Stone and Justin Theroux afterwards. What was it like hanging out with them in the south of France?

Well, we all work together for the brand and have become friends. So it’s fun.

What was it like attending your first Met Gala in May?

Crazy. It was a little intimidating, but it was like just exciting and, you know, great to be with that group of people and to wear something by Nicholas.

You were just at Cannes promoting a film. Can you tell me about that film and your character in it?

So the film’s called BlacKkKlansman. It’s Spike Lee’s new film. And my character’s named Patrice. She’s kind of a Black Panther activist in the early ’70s. And she’s a really strong woman who stands up for what she believes in and uses her voice and tries to change things. I’m super inspired by her—especially in these times we’re in right now.

I also want to ask about your skincare regimen because your skin is just flawless. What do you do to keep it looking so great?

I have an awesome woman, Shani Darden in LA, who I see, and I just do whatever she tells me to do. Sunblock every day, for sure. And exfoliate. And try and wash your face before you go to bed.

Do you have any favorite products that you use?

I really like the iS Clinical cleanser. Yeah.
